Land, Sky & Sea

“Wax and Wane #1″

I’m included in a an exhibit featuring work by West Hartford Art League members Frank Federico, Carol Ganick, Lee Goode, Elizabeth Lazaren, and John Rohatsch. The show is at 100 Pearl Gallery in Hartford, CT and will be up until the end of April.

The opening is Wednesday, March 31st from 5:30 – 7:30

Photographing photographers

This week I headed north to the new studio of photographer Lynne Graves… Lynne was a photo assistant of mine a few years ago and is now shooting on her own…she was a frequent “model/body in the scene” on shoots with me and always game for anything… here are a few more from this week…

When the background becomes the Subject

While shooting these Ohio Buckeye seed pods… which I collected last fall in my backyard… I realized that the linen background I was shooting them on was a beautiful subject on it’s own…

Art Opening portraits & video

The most interesting looking people come to art openings.. these were at the Ellen Carey show at West Hartford Art League that opened last night…shot with my Canon G11… the first is art dealer and collector Marion Harris..

Tomatillos Two Ways

I saw these tomatillos in the grocery store and thought they would make a good subject…I love the papery texture of the skin and the pale green color… I shot them last week on a piece of green slate and then again this week on linen… very different feel to each…

now I need to find a recipe….
